Delete your Apothy account

If you can sign in to Apothy on your phone, the fastest way to remove your account is from inside the app.

1. Open Apothy AI on your iPhone or Android device.
2. Tap Settings in the bottom navigation bar.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen and tap Delete account.
4. Read the deletion notice and confirm. The deletion runs immediately. You are signed out as soon as it completes.

No further action is required. Your account, your chat history, your moods, your memories, and your subscription are processed as described in sections 3 and 4 below.

If you have lost access to your phone, uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in for any reason, you can still request deletion by emailing us:

Include the email address you used to sign in to Apothy (Google, Apple, or your direct email) so we can locate the right account. We do not need any other identifying information. We reply to confirm when the deletion is done, within the time the law requires.

We will only act on requests from the account email itself. This is a safeguard against someone else asking for your data to be removed.

The following are removed in full, with no soft-delete or tombstone record:

• Your user profile, including name, display name, and avatar.
• Every chat message you have sent to Apothy and every reply Apothy has sent back to you.
• Your conversation memory, including pinned memories and symbolic themes.
• Your mood entries, mood tags, weekly chronicles, and any insights derived from your activity.
• Achievements, XP, streaks, and the rest of your gamification state.
• Voice settings, preferences, and reminders.
• Your authentication tokens. You are signed out of every device immediately.
• Your active subscription is cancelled. You will not be charged again. Existing billing periods run to their natural end where the underlying store (Apple App Store or Google Play) requires it.

A small set of records is anonymised and retained. We are required by law to keep these for tax and financial recordkeeping purposes.

• Payment records: the fact that a payment occurred, the amount, and the date. Anonymised so they can no longer be linked to you. Retained for seven years under the Australian Income Tax Assessment Act and the ATO record-keeping requirements for APOTHYAI PTY LTD.
• Subscription history: anonymised period start and end timestamps. Retained for the same financial recordkeeping reason above.
• Backups: your data is removed from our live systems immediately. Copies in our hosting provider's database backups are removed as those backups expire.

None of these retained records contain your name, email, conversation content, mood data, or memory data. They contain only the minimum required by law.

In-app deletions run immediately. Within a few seconds of tapping Delete account, your account is gone from our production systems.

Email-based deletions are carried out once we have confirmed the request came from the account's own email address.

Copies in database backups are removed as those backups expire, with the exceptions listed in section 4.
